Visual editing without the fragile markup
The classic desktop site editors made web design approachable, but they left behind tangled, tool-bound HTML that was hard to change and harder to move. WebVanta Studio keeps a structured model of your whole site instead — pages, routes, navigation, components, design tokens, content and assets — and treats the HTML it produces as output, never as the thing you edit. The markup stays clean, and your project stays yours.
Every change is a safe step
Whatever you do on the canvas, in the inspector or with the assistant becomes a typed command that checks itself before it runs, so an invalid drop is refused before it can break the page. Undo and redo replay those commands, and saving a page records them in its revision history — you can always see what changed, and when.
Design once, reuse everywhere
Colours, spacing and type are design tokens; layout is a handful of clear decisions per element; anything beyond that goes through named style rules that always land where you expect. Build a header, a card or a call to action once as a component with slots and variants, place it anywhere, and change it in one place. Responsive behaviour uses named conditions — compact, medium, wide — rather than a tangle of pixel breakpoints.
From first page to live site
While you work, Run opens the saved site in your own web browser at a private address only your computer can reach, so you can click through it as a visitor would. When you are ready, the studio compiles a release: plain HTML, one layered stylesheet and your assets, with a robots file, redirects and — once you give the site’s web address — a sitemap. Every release is validated before it can go anywhere — broken links, missing assets, unsafe code and secrets such as keys and passwords in recognised formats are caught — and can then be checked in a private preview at desktop, tablet and phone widths. Publish it to a folder, an FTP, FTPS or SFTP server or a version-control branch, or export it and upload it however you like, and roll back in one step if you need to.
For developers, too
A code editor with syntax highlighting for more than 100 languages sits alongside the canvas, and custom code is kept byte for byte and reviewed before it is trusted. Published sites never contain scripts, though: when a project needs behaviour written in code, the studio exports the design as source for popular front-end frameworks and server-side template engines as well as plain HTML, without taking over files it did not write.
Learn it by building a real website
The download includes a free, illustrated 223-page tutorial. Over sixteen chapters you build a complete website for Juniper Bakery, a fictional neighbourhood bakery and café: pages and navigation, colours and type, responsive layouts, reusable components, menu items in English and French, photographs, a reviewed release, publishing and rollback, the source code a developer can take further, and the assistant. Every chapter ends with a checklist and troubleshooting notes, and the book has bookmarks and linked contents for reading on screen or printing. In the studio’s main window, F1 opens the full user manual.
New in version 0.9.4
- Run in Browser — try the saved site in your own browser before you build a release.
- Workspace Location — see exactly where your sites are saved, and move the database files safely to another folder.
- Slots in component templates — add them straight from the component editor’s palette.
- Better image descriptions — new images take their alternative text from the asset library, with a clear option for purely decorative images.
- More reliable — two situations that could make the studio stop responding are fixed.
- The tutorial book — now included in the download.
Everything a website needs, in one studio
A visual canvas for whole sites
Click to place, drag to move and type straight onto the page, with the structure tree alongside, undo and redo for every change, and a live preview as you work.
A real design system
Design tokens for colour, spacing and type, named style rules and reusable components with slots and variants — change a token once and the whole site follows.
Responsive by design
Named layout conditions instead of pixel breakpoints, and a built-in check of every page at five screen widths for overflow and heading-order problems.
Content in several languages
Typed content and records in several languages, a content-editor mode that lets colleagues update text without touching the design, and an asset library that checks every file first.
Bring your existing site
Import HTML and CSS from files, a folder or a ZIP, and move whole projects between computers in an open, inspectable package — with a report of anything that could not come across.
Try, check and publish
Run the site in your own browser with one click, then build validated static releases, preview them privately, publish to a folder, an FTP, FTPS or SFTP server or a version-control branch, and roll back whenever you need to.
Built for teams
Separate permissions for editing, reviewing and publishing, approvals tied to the exact release, comments pinned to what they are about, and a full revision history.
An assistant that proposes, not imposes
An optional assistant drafts changes as a proposal you review first. Its offline planner handles set tasks such as a site outline, starter sections and quick repairs; for anything else you can connect a cloud AI model with your own key.

Safe by design
- Imported files and assets are inspected before use, and anything suspicious is quarantined instead of published
- Custom code is kept byte for byte and goes through review, and published sites never contain scripts at all
- Every release is an immutable, validated bundle — broken links, missing assets and leaked secrets are caught before anything goes live
- By default, publishing needs an approved review, and editing after approval cancels it, so what was approved is exactly what goes live
- Every consequential action is written to a tamper-evident, hash-chained audit trail, so changed, inserted or reordered entries are detected
- Deployment passwords are kept in Windows’ own credential store — never in a site, a package or a release
Up and running in minutes
AppOne WebVanta Studio is free to download. One setup program installs the studio together with anything your computer is missing, and the illustrated tutorial in the same download takes you from your first page to a published website.
- 1Download and unzip
Save the ZIP file, then right-click it and choose Extract All. Inside are the setup program, WebVantaStudioSetup.exe, and the tutorial, AppOne-WebVanta-Studio-Tutorial.pdf. WebVantaStudio.msi is for IT teams that install the database engine separately — everyone else should use the setup program.
- 2Run the setup program
Double-click WebVantaStudioSetup.exe, accept the licence terms and choose Install. Windows will ask for administrator permission.
- 3Let setup add what is missing
If your computer has no suitable database engine yet, setup installs a free one, and on Windows 10 it may add the browser component the canvas needs. This can take several minutes and may ask for a restart.
- 4Start building
Open AppOne WebVanta Studio from the Start menu or your desktop. It creates its database on first start — then open the tutorial, where chapter 1 walks you through your first site.
AppOne WebVanta Studio
What you need
- A 64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 11 computer
- Administrator rights to install
- An internet connection during setup on Windows 10, if the browser component is missing
- Setup adds anything else the studio needs — a free local database engine and the browser component — when your computer is missing them
- A PDF reader for the tutorial — your web browser will do

The setup program is not code-signed yet, so Windows may warn about an unknown publisher: choose More info, then Run anyway. The checksum above lets you confirm the ZIP file you downloaded is ours.
Frequently asked questions
Is it really free?
Yes. AppOne WebVanta Studio costs nothing to download or install, and neither does the tutorial that comes with it.
Is there a tutorial?
Yes — a 223-page illustrated PDF book comes in the same download. Over sixteen chapters and an appendix you build one complete website for a fictional bakery, from the first page to a reviewed, published release, with a checklist and troubleshooting notes at the end of every chapter. The full user manual is also built into the studio: press F1 in the main window, or choose Help › Help Manual.
What do I need to run it?
A 64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 11 computer and administrator rights to install it. The studio carries its own runtime, and setup adds a free local database engine and the browser component the canvas uses whenever your computer is missing them. If your computer already has a suitable database server, setup leaves it alone and the studio uses it; your Windows account then needs permission to create a database on it. Two things are optional and separate: publishing to a version-control branch needs that tool installed, and the cloud AI model needs your own key.
Why does Windows warn me when I run setup?
The setup program is not code-signed yet, so Windows shows an unknown-publisher warning. Choose More info, then Run anyway. To be sure the download is genuine, compare the SHA-256 checksum of the ZIP file with the one on this page.
What kind of websites does it make?
Fast, plain static websites: clean HTML, one stylesheet and your images and files, with a robots file and, once you give the site’s web address, a sitemap. They contain no scripts and need no database or server-side code, so they run on practically any web host.
Can I bring in my existing website?
Yes. Import your HTML and CSS from files, a folder or a ZIP. The studio turns what it can into editable pages, keeps anything it cannot represent safely preserved, and shows you a report of what changed on the way in. Scripts are never run during an import.
How do I publish my site?
Build a release, check it in the private preview, then publish it to a local or network folder, an FTP, FTPS or SFTP server, or a version-control branch. Every deployment is recorded, and rolling back is one step. You can also export a release as a folder or ZIP and upload it any way you like — and before any of that, Run opens the saved site in your own browser so you can click through it first.
Where are my sites saved, and what happens when I upgrade?
Your sites live in the local database on your computer rather than in loose files; File › Workspace Location shows exactly where, and can move the database files to another folder safely. Back up the database regularly — appendix A of the tutorial shows how — and export each site as a package now and then. To upgrade, make a backup, then run the newer setup program: your sites and settings are kept, and the database is updated when the studio next starts.
Does the AI assistant send my site anywhere?
Only if you choose a cloud AI model. The built-in planner works entirely offline. With a cloud model and your own key, you can check exactly what will be sent before you send it: your request and an outline of the site — page titles and addresses, navigation, component and token names, content types — plus the page or records you chose, with keys, passwords in recognised formats, email addresses and phone numbers removed. Your code files, images, deployment passwords and team are never sent, and every suggestion comes back as a proposal you review before anything changes.
How do I get help?
Email our technical support team at support@app-one.co.uk. Please include the version number from Help › About and a short description of what happened. Many answers are already in the built-in manual (press F1) and in the troubleshooting notes at the end of each tutorial chapter.
